Hungry Ghosts on the Spiritual Path

I remember when I first heard the term “Hungry Ghosts” in a Tantrik psychology class.
It landed like a lightning strike.

Suddenly I could see it: - All the searching - All the spiritual content consumption - All the chasing of the one missing key or miracle insight that would finally make me feel “divine”

I wasn’t evolving. I was chasing my tail.

Already Whole, Already Home

Tantra teaches us that we are already perfect, whole, and complete.

We simply move between moments of revealing that truth — and moments of concealing it.

It’s not a straight line. It’s movement. Flux. Practice. But it’s always there.

The Coaching Industry’s Mirage

The self-help and coaching industries have exploded in the past decade.

They market clarity, transformation, and freedom… but often feed us another illusion.

We become hungry for more: - More insight - More healing - More answers

But like the mythical Hungry Ghost, we can’t digest what we consume.

We take in wisdom, but it stays in the mind. We skim insights, but never metabolize them. It’s like fast food for the soul — a dopamine hit, but no true nourishment.

So we keep eating. And never feel full.

What Actually Heals the Hungry Ghost

This is not a condemnation.
It’s a mirror.

We all do this at times. No one is above it. We’re just at different stages, with different levels of awareness.

The invitation is simple: - Slow down - Digest what you’ve already received - Discern what’s truly yours to follow - Walk your chosen path, consistently

Get one map. And keep walking.

This is what turns information into embodiment.
This is what satisfies the ghost.

A Blessing, Not a Curse

There is no destination.
Only the blessing of discovering who we are.
Again and again and again.

That is the real nourishment.
